Celebrate A Decade of Brilliance with SAICA’s Top 35-Under-35!

The SAICA Top 35-under-35 is an annual recognition program organized by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). It aims to identify and celebrate young chartered accountants who have made significant contributions to the accounting profession and society. The program recognizes individuals under the age of 35 who have demonstrated excellence in their careers, leadership potential, and a commitment to ethical conduct.

This initiative was started by the SAICA in 2014 and celebrates its 10th edition this year. Deliver some of South Africa’s greatest young leaders and building a incredibly talented alumni. The Top-35-Under-35 competition recognises young CAs(SA) achievers who are not only excelling in their professional capacity, but who are also making a meaningful contribution to society.

    Conditions of entry

    • The Top 35-under-35 competition is open to all Chartered Accountants [CAs(SA)] who are 35 years of age and younger as at 31 December 2023.
    • The applicant must be a registered member of SAICA in good standing with no past or pending judgements. All applicants must attach a letter of good standing from SAICA.
    •  The applicant must agree to provide SAICA with any documentary evidence as well as providing all consents and assistance in connection with any background searches if so, required by SAICA to substantiate the information provided in the form.
    • All entries must be accompanied by a compulsory 2-minute video of introduction of the applicant and giving reasons why they should be considered. The video should be sent via www.wetransfer.com. The applicant will further submit 2 high resolution colour photographs.
    • The judges’ decision is final and SAICA is under no obligation to provide any reasons for any final decision taken in the shortlisting process.
    • Entries will be treated in confidence and will not be circulated outside of judges, sponsors, and selected employees of SAICA.
    • The applicant authorises SAICA to disclose my relevant Personal Information to the relevant stakeholders, for consideration of the application, in the event in which the applicant is shortlisted, for the judging purposes and publication purposes.
    • The finalists must avail themselves for the promotional video shoot, television interviews and other media engagements meant to promote the competition.
    • Finalists must avail themselves for the judging sessions at a venue and date to be communicated to them. During the judging days, a professional photoshoot, video shoot and social media posts take place. Finalists are required to make time for these activities.
    • Finalists are responsible for their own traveling and accommodation costs to attend the judging session and the awards ceremony where winners will be announced.
    • Finalists are required to share key financial data, publications and/or articles supporting their entry with the judges during their presentation session and will cooperate with SAICA in any efforts to finalise the judging process.
    • No prizes are exchangeable for cash or any other prize.
    • I confirm that my consent was given voluntarily without coercion, and I understand that I may withdraw my consent at any time. In the event in which I withdraw my consent it would have a direct impact on my application.
    • A finalist can be disqualified from the competition for disciplinary reasons, failure to adhere to the competition’s deadlines and for any act that might bring SAICA, the competition and its sponsors to disrepute.
    • The applicant understands that SAICA in its sole discretion will shortlist applicants as it deems fit, as such if the applicant has not heard from SAICA within three weeks after the closing date of the entries, such applicant should consider their application unsuccessful.
    • The final decision of the judges is subject to necessary security clearance and such decision will be final, therefore there will be no right of appeal against any decisions taken by SAICA and/or the judges.
    • The Top 35-Under-35 competition administrators will send candidates more questions or request more information from the candidates where necessary.
    • SAICA will not be responsible for the verification of data provided by the applicant and will not be liable for any errors contained in the information submitted by the applicant. As such, the Applicant will ensure that the online application is accurate and up to date.
    • You agree that an incomplete, incomprehensible, and incorrectly submitted application form will not be considered
    • You accept that due to a large number of applications we may receive we will not be able to acknowledge or respond to each and every application but only to those that have been short listed.
    • By completing and submitting your application you as the applicant hereby agree that you have read, understood and accepted the following terms and conditions. Entries close on 15 September 2023 at 12:00pm, and late, incomprehensible, and incorrectly submitted entries will not be accepted.
    • SAICA reserves the right to cancel, modify or amend the competition at any time if deemed necessary in their own opinion or if circumstances arise outside of their control.
