2024 Complimentary Climate Change Conference : Localisation Sustaining Green Growth
Event overview and objective
Next year will be a decade since the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change. The 2nd SAICA Climate Change Conference is set to explore ambitious goals and policies set to realise net zero strategies. This will also include discussions on cutting-edge technologies, and long-term sustainable best practices across the South African and African regions. Further, the dialogues will take a closer look at the new SA Climate Change Act, with President Ramaphosa in his July address stating that “We need to use our fiscal policy , to support our response to the shocks of climate change and to advance the just transition to a more inclusive, resilient and sustainable economy”. This exciting conference offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of emerging green industries, targeted local procurement, tax incentives, global investments, and trade instruments including climate reporting.
To stay ahead of the changing environment and sufficiently address the country’s plans for Just Energy Transition, the esteemed panelists will also focus on skills development and its promotion, improving skills distribution and driving technical performance and service to drive climate action for both public and private companies.
This full-day [09h00 – 1600] conference will aim to innovate to tackle the climate change impacts, mitigation, and adaptation challenges, and incorporate the socio-economic viable opportunities.
